You need a domain you already own (from a registrar like Namecheap, GoDaddy, Porkbun or Cloudflare) and a Pro or Business plan.
1. Add the domain
- Go to Links & domains → Custom domain.
- Type the domain, like
links.yourname.comoryourname.com, and press Connect to this page.
2. Add the DNS records
The card shows the exact records to add at your registrar. Copy them as shown:
- A TXT record named
_inmybio.+ your domain. It proves the domain is yours. - For a subdomain like
links.yourname.com: a CNAME record pointing to the target in the card. - For a bare domain like
yourname.com: the A records shown in the card.
3. Check it
Press Check. DNS changes can take from a few minutes to a few hours to spread. When it works, the status says Live and your page opens at your domain with a secure (https) connection.
Pick which page it shows
Use Shows to pick the page. On Business, each domain can show a different page.
A subdomain like links.yourname.com is usually the easiest, because it doesn't touch your main website or email.
If it isn’t working
Go to Links & domains → Custom domain and press Check. Here's what the status means:
| Status | What to do |
|---|---|
| Waiting for DNS | We can't see your TXT record yet. Add it, or wait a bit and check again. |
| Verified · not pointing yet | The TXT record is fine, but the CNAME or A record is missing or wrong. |
| Issuing certificate… | All good. We're setting up https. This usually takes a few minutes. |
| Certificate problem | Something blocks the certificate. Check the records again, then contact us. |
| Live | You're done. 🎉 |
Common mistakes
- Doubled names. Many registrars add your domain on their own. If you type
_inmybio.links.yourname.comin the name field, it can end up as_inmybio.links.yourname.com.yourname.com. Try just_inmybio.links. - Proxy turned on. On Cloudflare, set the record to DNS only (grey cloud).
- Old records left over. Remove any other A, AAAA or CNAME records for the same name.
- Patience. DNS can take a few hours to update everywhere.
